Solar water heating systems use free heat from the sun to heat domestic hot water, throughout the year. They can deliver up to 60-70% of your hot water demand. During the summer months you can virtually shut down your gas or oil boiler and rely on the solar panels for your hot water, which reduces carbon emissions and your oil or gas bill.
There are two types of solar panel, flat plate collectors and evacuated tubes.
How it works.
The panels are mounted on a south facing roof. They collect heat from the sun and it is then transferred to a hot water cylinder with a dedicated solar coil by means of a pump station and heat transfer fluid.
