Van-at-Bedeck

Alexander Irwin, started manufacturing linen handkerchiefs way back in 1951, in Magheralin, Northern Ireland and Bedeck is still a family run business. It is now the UK market leader for branded bedding and bathroom products, working only with the very best brands and suppliers around the world creating the newest, most innovative product. Bedeck needed to extend its warehouse and this project comprised a 15,000sq ft extension to the furnishings warehouse.

The extension was completed whilst the remainder of the adjoining buildings were in full use. CHP Mechanical Services advised that the optimum solution was to install four 99kW wood pellet biomass boilers along with Sabiana air heaters. The installation included thermal stores, pellet storage silos, auger delivery systems and associated pipework linking into the existing heating system.

As well as reducing their carbon footprint, the installation of biomass boilers reduced fuel bills and allowed them to benefit from the income generated via the Renewable Heat Incentive scheme.
